The best time to visit
Every month in Oualidia has its own special attraction. Year round, days are hot, nights are cool. July and August are the best months for swimming, but the beach is popular with day-trippers. If you’re interested in bird watching come during the migration seasons of March-April and October-November. Spring flowers are at their height from January to April. The rainy months are November and March but showers rarely last more than a couple of hours. Sunbathing is possible all year round.

Getting there
We recommend flying to Marrakech and then hiring a car or taking a taxi to Oualidia. We can arrange transfers from Marrakech or Casablanca for £50 (€75) one way. The 180-km journey takes just under three hours. Check www.moneysupermarket.com or www.expedia.co.uk for cheap flights from the UK. Easyjet www.easyjet.com offer flights from Gatwick to Marrakech for as little as £31 one way. Car hire is expensive in Morocco and not really necessary for a trip to Oualidia. However, a car will give you additional flexibility for day trips etc. Try www.budget.co.uk
